1 Corinthians 13 – Love Poem

Although I speak with the tongues of angels,
but have not love,
my words would have no meaning.

And though I have the gift of prophesy,
understand all mysteries,
and all knowledge,

and have faith so that I could remove mountains,
if I have not love,
I am nothing.

If I give to the poor,
surrender my body to the flames,
but have not love,
I have gained nothing.

Love is patient.
Love is kind.
It does not envy.
It is not proud.
It is not self seeking.

It does not seek to do harm.
It does not rejoice over the wrong,
but rejoices in the truth.

It has faith, hope, belief and endures all things.
It is patient and full of goodness.

It aspires to all things,
love will always persevere,
while the prophecies shall be done away,
the tongues shall be silenced.

For now we see through a mirror in an enigma,
that knowledge shall fade…
what shall remain is faith, hope, and love…
but the greatest of these…
is love.
